Stratford-Perth launches the Tree Trust program at the Falstaff Family Centre

“Environmental activists, members of the Indigenous community, politicians, local historians, arborists and others gathered at the Falstaff Family Centre in Stratford Friday afternoon to celebrate the launch

Founded by local residents Marianne Van Den Heuvel, Geoff Love and Jane Eligh-Feryn, the Stratford-Perth Tree Trust was introduced to the community in front of some of Stratford’s largest and oldest maple trees on the Falstaff Family Centre front lawn.

Those who spoke at the launch included singer-songwriter and Falstaff Family Centre owner Loreena McKennitt; Stratford Coun. Jo-Dee Burbach, Jeffery George, a celebrated Ojibway artist from Kettle and Stoney Point First Nation; certified arborist Tim Lott; local author and historian Dean Robinson; and environmental activist and founder of the Elora Environment Centre’s Tree Trust Toni Ellis.”
