TBM SYCAMORE

Arboreal Inc., led by arborist James Houghton, worked on an 85-year-old American Sycamore (Platanus occidentalis) to improve its structural stability and safety. A large fracture in the Northern co-dominant stem required significant canopy reductions to balance the tree and reduce wind resistance.

The team reduced limbs over the road to minimize hazards and performed form and structure pruning, including deadwood removal, on the Southern stem. These measures not only stabilized the tree but also enhanced its canopy balance, ensuring its longevity as a prominent feature of the forest edge.
