The 2026 Read A Tree workshop series was a major success for Tree Trust and Centre Wellington tree lovers. Thanks to the sponsorship of the Rotary Club of Ferus-Elora, these small, group-lead experiences were perfect for those in the community who have a passion for trees and wanted to take it to the next level. Each session, local to Centre Wellington, was designed to lead consecutively into the next, with topics ranging from species identification, tree defense mechanisms and basic tree health assessments. Although Braedon, our educator, had a clear curriculum in mind, each session encouraged participants to bring their own questions – and they did. This ensured that all our participants got the most out of the experience, fostering great dialogue and learning a thing or two about their very own trees.
Although we experienced a hiccup in the form of a delayed sessions because of the weather, we were so pleased with the effort, time and passion all our participants committed to this workshop series. We want to extend a big thank you to the Rotary Club of Fergus-Elora for sponsoring this workshop series and for their continued support of the work Tree Trust is doing.
