The Toronto Islands Community chapter of Tree Trust is honoured to have received several donations in memory of islander Peter Dewdney. He passed away on January 22nd, 2026, at home, surrounded by loved ones.
In the words of his wife, Gaye Jackson, Peter was a rock solid part of Toronto Island who knew and loved trees. An artist, a prospector, a community advocate, a raconteur, he spent as much time outdoors as possible, both on the island and on the land in Northern Ontario. His quick wit and epic stories will be missed by all.

Helping to sustain the legacy trees within the Toronto Island Community is a deeply meaningful way to honour the memory of a loved one.
