Art Gay memorial tree correctively pruned for future success as a carbon storehouse

Not all trees make it to 100 – and most of the time, it’s because of structural issues that could have been fixed when they were younger.

In 2021, Tree Trust stewarded a Red Maple planted in 2009 in memory of Art Gay. Thanks to corrective pruning, this decade-old tree will have a better chance of seeing its centennial and becoming a carbon storehouse for future generations.
