Reep’s Tree Trust chapter in Waterloo Region spotlights the importance of preserving legacy trees. This initiative raises awareness about mature trees’ essential role and their myriad benefits. Through donations, Reep funds arborists to aid nonprofits, schools, and faith communities, ensuring these legacy trees stay a part of our urban canopy for years to come.
In 2024, Tree Trust provided arborist care for five mature trees across Kitchener, Waterloo, and Cambridge and planted six new native trees to eventually shade coming generations. Each mature tree does the work of 300 new saplings to fight climate change, from storing carbon to diverting stormwater.
