Port Dalhousie Tree Trust and SCAN (Seniors for Climate Action Now) are collaborating to offer an engaging public presentation on January 15, 2026 from 1:30pm – 2:30pm at the Ina Grafton Gage Village Auditorium in St. Catharines.

This talk will explore the full lifecycle of a tree, from seed to maturity, highlighting the many challenges trees face in urban environments. We’ll look at how built infrastructure, improper pruning, soil limitations, and other stressors impact their health, as well as the vital benefits trees provide to our communities throughout their lives.

The presentation will be delivered by Tree Trust Operations Manager, Braedon Witt. Braedon completed his Master’s degree in Forest Conservation (MFC) at the University of Toronto, where he was awarded the 2023 T.W. Dwight Prize for academic excellence. As a permanent staff member at Tree Trust, he draws on his extensive ecological and arboricultural knowledge to deliver engaging public seminars, informational sessions, and guided tree inventories and walks across Southern Ontario.
