The public is invited to attend a Tree Trust TBM celebration on August 13th. Many local residents have generously supported the work of Tree Trust TBM as we provide life-extending conservation care to our older legacy trees. Due to continued resident support and a generous donation from Thornbury-Clarksburg Rotary we are pleased to announce that a much- loved Sugar Maple in Thornbury- Clarksburg Union Cemetery will get professional arborist attention on August 13th at 9 am. The celebration will feature a dedication, a presentation on the role of older trees in our ecology as well as aerial climbing in action.
Hopefully gathering limits will remain at 100, but if not the event will be limited following the COVID-19 regulations in effect, with admissions on a first come first served basis if needed. Inclement weather will result in the event being postponed. For more information, please contact [email protected].
This will be our second tree for 2021 and also the second tree that we will care for in the Thornbury-Clarksburg Union Cemetery. This tree is a special one for TBM residents, with several residents getting in touch with Tree Trust to specifically request that this tree receive some care. Residents enjoy this tree on morning and afternoon walks and have noted its advanced age (estimated to be more than 100 years old) and stately and beautiful form.
