The first photo shows the tents at Ward’s Island, taken in 1911. 109 years later, not only have the houses changed but you can barely see them for the trees!
Toronto Islander Brendan Carberry had to take the new photo from a much higher angle, using a drone. The original would have been taken from a tower, but in 2020 you could see nothing but trees when shot from lower down! In both, you can also see the ferry in the Ward’s Island dock.
